We warmly invite researchers to contribute to the “Natural Products in the 21st Century” conference by submitting an abstract for an oral presentation or a poster. This conference offers a unique platform to share your work and engage with an interdisciplinary community at the forefront of natural product discovery.

We welcome original research, novel methodologies, and emerging projects within the following thematic areas of natural products research:

  • Theme 1: Computational Genomics
  • Theme 2: Experimental Genomics
  • Theme 3: Computational Metabolomics

  • Theme 4: Applied Metabolomics

  • Theme 5: Integrated Approaches

 

Key Dates

  • Abstract Submission Deadline: October 31st, 2025 (23:59 CET)

  • Notification of Acceptance: November 30th, 2025

  • Conference dates: February 9th-11th, 2026


How to Apply

To apply, please complete the Sign-up form and indicate whether you wish to give a talk, present a poster, or attend without presenting.

  • If applying for a talk or poster, submit an abstract as a Word document by email following the abstract submission guidelines. 

  • If you would like to attend without giving a presentation, a short personal statement must be submitted describing your background, research interests, and reasons for attending the conference.

Oral presentations will be 15 minutes long, followed by a 10-minute Q&A. All submitted abstracts will be evaluated for relevance and quality. Abstracts not selected for oral presentation will be automatically considered for poster presentation.

Once the submissions have been reviewed, selected participants will receive a confirmation email from us no later than November 30th 2025, to complete the registration and payment of fees.

Use the filename format “Presentation Type_Theme_LastName_FirstName”. (e.g. Poster_Theme1_Smith_Jane). After completing the sign-up form, please send the abstract file (.docx) via email to magic-molfun@biosustain.dtu.dk  with the subject line in the same format as the abstract file name.

By submitting an abstract, the presenting author agrees to the inclusion of their abstract in the official abstract book, which will be distributed to all registered participants and may be made available on the conference website.

If your abstract contains confidential or sensitive information and  you would prefer it not to be shared publicly, please notify the organizing committee in advance by contacting us at magic-molfun@biosustain.dtu.dk. We will do our best to accommodate reasonable exceptions.

 

Personal Statement Submission Guidelines

If you wish to attend the conference without presenting, please submit a short personal statement (around 300 words) explaining your background, research topic and why you would like to attend the conference.

Use the filename format “PersonalStatement_LastName_FirstName”. (e.g.PersonalStatement_Smith_Jane). After completing the sign-up form, please send filevia email to magic-molfun@biosustain.dtu.dk with the subject line in the same format as the abstract file name.

 

Selection Criteria

The Scientific Organizing Committee will select participants based on:

  • Scientific quality of submitted abstracts or motivation letters

  • Relevance to the conference themes

  • Diversity of research areas, institutions, countries, gender, and career stages

Please note thatsubmitting an abstract or letter does not guarantee selection.
